CIJR has earned broad community and international legitimacy. Prof. Frederick Krantz is the Institute's well-known Director, and community leader Irwin Beutel is Chairman of our National Board (Charles Lazarus, Dr. William Bilek and Aaron Remer are Past Chairmen). Board members include Thomas O. Hecht, Evelyn Schachter and Ariela Cotler as Committee Chairs. It is a cross-section of outstanding, respected, and active Montreal community leaders.
The late Menachem Begin, renowned Islamic scholar Elie Kedourie, distinguished Jewish philosopher Prof. Emil Fackenheim, and Israeli ambassador-author Eliahu Lankin were early members of CIJR's respected International Board, chaired by Leonard Wolman. It includes international figures like UN Ambassador Dan Gillerman, General Moshe Ya'alon, recent Canadian Hadassah-WIZO president Naomi Frankenburg (Vancouver).
