FOUR STUDENT RESEARCH INTERNSHIPS FOR SUMMER, 2020

Our Montreal office is looking for three passionate, self-reliant, motivated young writers and researchers.  It’s full-time work for over an eight- week period, as per the Federal Summer Students’ Program, as well as those who are receiving federal government support through the Canada Student Service Grant – COVID – 19, and, are looking for an exciting way to spend their summer.  Qualified candidates will write and research articles under the guidance of resident scholars and writers.  Their articles will appear in our unique student Dateline Middle East publication, as well as on our brand-new website, which will soon become fully functional. They will also be required to research online and Zoom programs to include in our Canada-wide Calendar of Community Events. This opportunity will provide real hands-on experience for those pursuing a career in journalism, Israel advocacy, communications, Jewish studies, or other related fields while working within a friendly, supportive environment.

 
Our Toronto branch is also looking for one passionate, self-reliant, motivated individual who will work closely with our three co-Chairs.  Qualified candidates will write and research articles under the guidance of resident scholars and writers.  Their articles will appear in our unique student Dateline Middle East publication, as well as on our brand-new website, which will shortly become fully functional. The internship will entail helping set up venues for speakers, researching online and Zoom programs to be included in our Canada-wide Calendar of Community Events, and a variety of related functions.  In the course of the work, the individual will become personally acquainted with the inner workings of the Toronto Jewish community, and establish worthwhile connections with community leaders.  This opportunity will provide real hands-on experience for those pursuing careers in public relations, Jewish studies, communications, Israel advocacy, and other related fields while working within a friendly supportive environment.

  • Good computer skills
  • Bilingual for Montreal positions
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Knowledge of the Middle East and Jewish issues
  • Creative personality and ability to work under pressure, when necessary
