“The Prophet had mortgaged his shield to a Jew when he died, he had shared harvest from the land of the Jews of Khaybar among two. The excellence he showed to his Jewish neighbor led the latter to Islam. … We must clean and purify Islam from the doubt and superstition that has stuck to it,” — said Abdul Rahman al-Sudais, the Imam of the Grand Mosque. During his Friday sermon, the Saudi Arabia cleric called  out intolerance for other religions espoused by radical schools of Islam. (WIN, Sept. 6, 2020)“All the kvelling about the Israeli-UAE flight does nothing to change the oppressive, discriminatory ‘one-state reality’ for occupied Palestinians. Only equal rights will do that,” – tweeted Kenneth Roth, executive director of the notoriously anti-Israel NGO Human Rights WatchUNWatch Executive Director Hillel Neuer quickly responded.  “Ken reveals he loves peace like the harlot revealed her love for the baby she asked King Solomon to cut in 2. He uses a Yiddish word to mock Jews celebrating the Israel-UAE peace accord. Ken never makes positive Jewish references. He’s uncomfortable with his identity.” (WIN,Sept. 2, 2020)

”… why this lie, right now? The alleged incident took place in November 2018—22 months ago. What makes it breaking news in September 2020? The answer, obviously, is the election. And more to the point, Democratic attempts to get around the election by saying in advance that Trump is going to “lose” and then refuse to leave office. Many elite luminaries, up to and including Joe Biden himself, are urging the military, when the time comes, to “escort [Trump] from the White House with great dispatch” (to use Biden’s words). Apparently, they’re not confident the military will go along. … In a way, this disgusting affair should give us hope. It suggests that the coup plotters may not be in quite as strong a position as they pretend to be,” – writes Michael Anton, former head of communications at the National Security Council.  In his op-ed he explains why The Atlantic’s smear on the president as disrespectful of fallen soldiers does not hold up. (American Greatness, Sept. 6, 2020)

“This does not excuse the dumb and dumber exchange we were all subjected to. But it does reveal in the left’s alliance with Islamism — whether Muslim Islamist sympathizers or a recognized far-left political commentator — how it demeans and devalues Muslims everywhere. To Reid and Omar I say: shame on you both!” – writes Dr. Quanta A. Ahmed.  She criticized MSNBC host Joy Reid’s claim that “the president has radicalized his supporters in the same way that “Muslims act,”  and U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar who sharply criticized Reid and demanded an apology for her Islamophobia. (Fox News, Sept. 5, 2020)

“A crowd of about 200 cheered as a few men removed Sir John A. from his pedestal on Saturday under the nose of police who stood and watched, while a crime against public property was taking place. How is that acceptable?… These ignorant thugs didn’t have a mandate from the people to rid the city of Sir John A. Macdonald’s likeness.” – writes columnist Lise Ravary on the toppling and decapitation of the statue of Canadian Prime Minister Sir John A. MacDonald in Montreal.  (Montreal Gazette, Aug. 31, 2020)

“Those kinds of acts of vandalism are not advancing the path towards greater justice and equality in this country,” – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said regarding the toppling and decapitation of Prime Minister Sir John A. MacDonald’s statue.  “We must fight racism, but destroying parts of our history is not the solution,” wrote Montreal Mayor Valerie Legault on Twitter in French. “Vandalism has no place in our democracy and the statue must be restored.” Alberta Premier Jason Kenney also leapt to offer the Alberta legislature as a home for the statue if Montreal opted not to reinstall it. “He was an immigrant who suffered unimaginable personal trauma throughout his life, which he overcame to forge an enormous country out of divided factions. It’s right to debate his legacy and life. But it is wrong to allow roving bands of thugs to vandalize our history with impunity,” Kenney tweeted. The new Conservative Party of Canada leader, Erin O’Toole also weighed in: “Canada wouldn’t exist without Sir John A. Macdonald. Canada is a great county (sic), and one we should be proud of. We will not build a better future by defacing our past. It’s time politicians grow a backbone and stand up for our country.” … Academics have entered the debate about what the destruction of statues does to the understanding of history. “The past is not a melodrama but more often a tragedy,” writes Victor David Hanson, a conservative historian, in National Review, a conservative publication. “Destroying history will not make you feel good about the present. Studying and learning from it might.” (National Post, Sept. 1, 2020)

“I am 100% ANTIFA all the way! I am willing to fight for my brothers and sisters! Even if some of them are too ignorant to realize what Antifa truly stands for. … We are currently living through a crucial point in Humanities evolution. We truly have an opportunity right now to fix everything. But it will be a fight like no other! It will be a war and like all wars there will be casualties,” – Antifa “activist” Michael Forest Reinoehl posted on Instagram. He was shot to death by police on Sept. 3, 2020. (Hot Air, Aug. 31, 2020)

“Silence supports [those who commit antisemitic offenses], indifference feeds them,” — Bishop Luc Ravel, the Catholic Archbishop of Strasbourg said in his message on Friday. “Rooted in a firm commitment to halakha, all aspects of this machzor are the fruit of serious research, which can be seen in this document. We pray that this machzor empowers communities that will be conducting multiple minyanim; helps those who will need to pray outdoors in the heat; and allows people to develop their relationship with God while wearing a mask and socially distancing,” writes Rabbi Dr. Kenneth Brander, president and dean of Yeshiva Ohr Torah Stone, and Rabbi Yehoshua Grunstein, Director of Training and Placement at Ohr Torah Stone’s Straus-Amiel Rabbinical Emissary Program. They were referring to a condensed version of the Rosh Hashanah machzor that they compiled to keep people safe while Covid 19 is around.   (Jewish Press, Sept. 6, 2020)
